1. When you produce content what do you do with it? Do you use it just once or leverage your efforts by producing content that can be used in many ways.   Can you add your articles together to produce a new book?  use your videos in a product?

The key to content leverage is to do once…use again and again…if you want to make more money online think like this!

2. Spread your content easily.  Plugins like ONLY WIRE, spread your content easily to 40+ sites with a click of a button….go and get it.

1. Track your results daily to get focused into your business more.

Time – this is a major issue for all of us so think about how your product or service relates to time…what objections could they have?  Takes to long, results to far away, can only access at certain times? Making money online is about helping people and saving time is a great way.

Money – remember on this one that making money online is about providing value, so how can you give more value for money?  Can you have a payment plan? Make a list of why your prospects would not value your product but would pay for someone else..look at your competition, what do they offer, what are their prices.

It’s not for me – this is a form of denial. If you have targeted your prospect well (that’s another challenge) then they need your service. You must convince them they this is EXACTLY what they are looking for and the BEST service/product for them..how can you speak to them more directly and convince them they need you product? One way is to increase the issue they are facing, ramp it up..really engage them in their problem with your copy.

I cannot do it - when selling you must understand that those reading your copy are NOT confident in their abilities, so how can you reassure them that they can achieve what you have?  Tell stories of how others have achieved the goal they want and tell your own story..relate to them and they will move a step closer to buying.

I don’t’ believe you – here you must provide PROOF of your offer and what it will do. Social proof is essential to making money online. When I sell my SEO course I use my own rankings as proof that I can achieve the goal. How can you add more proof to your sales process?

Making Money Online Easier

If there was one area that I suggest you focus on when making money online it is the area of conversion.  Remember, once you can get a person to your site it is all about the offer, how will you convert them?

It is also essential to recognise that each person comes to your site with a ready loaded list of objections which we have covered above so work hard to overcome them and your business will grow.

Most internet people come online wanting to express their ideas, make their fortune and sell their products, create the ideal lifestyle…

Well the key to doing all that is to make a small but seismic change in mindset about how all that can happen.

See The Internet Is A System

The key to massive success is in understanding that you are NOT an internet marketer, that is a useless and damaging title, on that has causes millions to fail online daily.

To be successful you must become a systems creator, one that understands how to leverage the power of the internet: you must become an internet systems creator!  (not very sexy I know but it is what it is!)

Let’s start with the internet.

What is the internet? a communication system made up of millions of other systems that fit together, forced to create a certain effect. The most powerful communication system ever, one that can be leveraged to create massive income and a wonderful lifestyle.

Your body is the same, a bunch of molecules, limbs, muscles etc all separate but functioning together, in harmony  (we hope)

Your business then, your internet business, is also part of system of the internet and a system in its own right and whether you know it or not, and your results are the results of that systems performance.

Its About Your System – Not You

Let’s be clear, I am not talking about YOUR performance but your system’s performance and that is where you need to make a change, to make a clear separation between yourself and your business.  I mean you are not the internet right?  So you are not your internet business then either..

Stay with me here…the key to success is to see your business as a system, one that produces certain results dependent on how efficient  it is…YOU are NOT your business, you are the creator of the system.

Let’s keep going…so now you are not an internet marketer, you are a system creator and the system is the one that does the work, not you.

You, the creator, manage the system and make sure it functions how you want it to..that it is able to create what you want…money.

With that mindset you can see your business for what it is and take the role that you must to create the lifestyle you want.  You set the lifestyle, then the goals, then the system to achieve those goals.  I hope that makes sense.

So what does that change in mindset achieve?

It achieves a number of things:

1. It separates you out from your business.  Your business becomes about the system and not you.  if the system is not functioning or producing the results you want, learn to see where the issue is and change that part of the system…

2. It puts you in the place you must be as an entrepreneur..outside of your business looking in: it forces you to work ON the business and not IN the business more.

3. It allows you to view your business in terms of how efficient the parts are..helping you to identify weaknesses in the system that are stopping it from achieving what you want it to achieve.

4. It allows you to create a system (business) that is ‘forced’ to create what you want.

5. You learn to create multiple systems at the same time, making you more money.

My Business System

My own system is broken down into 4 areas.  I call the system the ‘Quadrant System’ because it allows anyone to understand and create business faster and more easily.

The Quadrant System focuses on these areas:

1. Lead generation.

2. Conversion

3. Tracking

4. Personal Mastery.

Turning Traffic Into Profit

Each area is an essential part of the over-all system which is created to turn traffic into profit and is the basis of my success online.

Today, look at your own business as system…become a systems creator. Whether you like it or not, your results are the sum total of your business/system.

If you like what you are getting, your system is doing what you want (even though it could do better!), if not, you need to break it down and review the parts.

Of course, only those who are making it online know how to do this, in fact only a few really do understand the power of the system but today you can make a start.

What I Learnt When I Created My Internet Business

Hi,

here I would like to give you some ideas of how I created my own success online and the lessons I learnt along the way and biggest mistakes I made, hope fully you will learn from my mistakes.

The beginning of my career online began 14 years ago when I learnt how to marketing online for my personal development and health business and I did this very successfully.

So why did that work?

1. I mastered SEO and got my site found very easily..getting found is key to success.

2. I was passionate about my subject and this came through on the site and in the marketing that I created.

3. I targeted those who were interested what I was offering.

4. I became an expert in my field and was known for my work.

Now all of these positives created a very successful business but you have to realise that the internet was far less well known, the spam online was less, people were NOT so swamped with emails and the social media buzz as they are today…so the four points that created my massive success are even MORE important than ever in today’s market.

When I went online full time I sold my health business and went full into chasing the cash, followed the Gurus it was a different, painful and unhappy story..

1. Followed the cash, believing that I could make money in any market…wrong

2. I listened to the Guru’s and created sites in markets I did not care about.

3. I gave up my ‘expert’ status by going into new unknown markets.

4. I targeted those that I had no ‘rapport’ with and this came across in every part of my business.

So what happened when I went full time??? I BOMBED! big time.

It took a couple of years of frustration, hair pulling, money, time, lost confidence and ‘blood’ before I finally stopped and took a step back..it was then I realised that I had gone horribly wrong and I needed to get back to business basics…back the to strategies that had created the success in my past.

So Listen carefully:

The key learning from this post is this: I failed because I fell for the idea that making money was easy….and so everything I tried was incredibly hard: you may need to read that again.

Read it again: because I bought into the idea that this was going to be easy, I made poor decisions, went into markets I hated, focused on the money and not the value, failed to make any impact and ultimately became the failed opportunity seeker, just like the other 95% failing online.

Back to business basics:

I realised that when i created the successful business and ran a catering business with over 14 million turnover I KNEW it was going to be tough, and so I acted accordingly and created success…in my previous businesses I was a ‘strategic entrepreneur’ and succeeded.

Now I am back in the driving seat, making great money, still working but at my own pace, with the best lifestyle I have ever had..and that is because I WOKE UP to the reality of business and business online today.

It’s NOT Your Fault

I want you to do the same; WAKE UP and see why you are struggling, why you are frustrated and making no money, believe me, after 14 years online I KNOW why you are not making money.

So if you are failing, it has nothing to do with intelligence, effort, or experience. it has everything to with your approach to your business.

Like me and millions of others, the Guru’s and teachers online have told you a lie, betraying your trust and taking your money, time and energy.

The honest truth is this:

Making money online is hard work, particularly at the start, just like any business.

So that’s how I made money, by focusing on what I was good at, bringing amazing value, showing myself as the expert and offering great services and products.

The question is, how can you do the same?

YES of course you can..

A waste of time, confusing, not for business, brilliant..??

Now I know that many love it, many hate it, but what do you think?

Because as a business owner you should LOVE IT completely..

The only reason you don’t love it is because you are thinking about
it in the wrong way…so let me clarify for you you exactly what Facebook is for you as a business owner..

Because unless you are saying “Facebook is the BIGGEST OPPORTUNITY on the planet to market my business”
then you are not getting what it offers you as a business owner..

So let me tell you why…

We all know that there is limitless income and clients to be had using the internet as a marketing platform and until now Google has been the big shot. However, getting ranked on Google is not simple, advertising on Google is not cheap nor easy and targeting is limited to the search term  which is has been OK until now.

The beauty of Facebook is that you are able to target them as a PERSON not just what they are looking for andf there are over 800 million people using Facebook.

You can target their interests, location within 10 miles, their marital status, education, the business their work for, their own friends…

The key mind blowing insight is this;  it does not matter if you are an offline business owner or an internet marketer, Facebook, when used strategically in your business is the BEST marketing tool on the planet right now…and that is  FACT

Now all of this means better targeting for you as the business owner, which means less effort to get leads and more return on your investments of time, energy and money.

There are 800 million people on Facebook that you can target in some fashion easily and when you know how to make money from them your business with grow and grow, easily.

Local Business Owners

Now if you are a local business the 800 million will not interest you but maybe the 50,000 in your local town that are interested in what you are selling will???? Think about it..you have access to everyone on Facebook to within 10 miles of your business and you can target them on age, their interest and more besides!!

So when you think about Facebook, don’t think about social media, think about word of mouth on STEROIDS and you are starting to get the picture..

How To Recessions Proof Your Business( Not more traffic)

Make Your Marketing Pay By Testing (+ a joke)

I will explain the photo in a bit but first some common sense ideas that anyone online, in business or in marketing needs to hear.

If you are not testing, you are failing.

In my years in business, 20+ and my years online 14+ I still see the same issues come up time and again, a lack of CONVERSION from prospect to client.

It does not matter where I look, this is the BIGGEST issue that every business owner has, offline and online.  So why is this issue not going away?

Simple: because 95% of internet marketers have been convinced that traffic is their biggest issue by the so called ‘Gurus’ who are still drive the bus online.

So if you are reading this and not making the money you want, you have a CONVERSION issue not a traffic issue.  Getting traffic is easy..I can go onto Facebook and send thousands of people each day to my business….easy!   but converting them is the problem…

So for today forget about linking, tracking, rss feeds, social media and the rest of it and focus your attention on CONVERSION…and by that I mean market research and testing.

Now I do not have time get into too much detail but I urge you to take this week out…stop looking at emails…and answer these questions:

Who are my customers?

Where are my customers?

What are their most urgent needs?

What can I do to help them?

What is my irresistible offer that would make them MAD not to buy from me?

Once you have answered those questions (and of course there are lots more that would be helpful, but we will start there) look at your websites, emails and other offerings with the answers in mind and I GUARANTEE you will see a better return on your investment of time, money, energy and efforts.

Who Likes Tests?

Well, anyone who has made any money online or in the marketing business LOVES tests because it is THE only way to see if your ideas have worked or not.  You there is no blueprint to make money, every thing has to be tested.

of course you need the basics, market research, a great headline, conversion tactics, a great system the bottom line is this..EVERYONE TESTS and they keep the results of those tests well organised for 2 reasons..

1. If it does not work they don not want to repeat the same mistake.

2. if the test works well they want to know for future information.

So here is the the last question?  How well organised is your testing process?  because if it is not then you will NEVER grow your business.

The fist step is to keep a marketing diary and test everything you do..

We test everything we can, literally everything so that we get a better and better ‘picture’ of what works and what does not..

Next:

Stop chasing the traffic and answer the first set of questions.

get organised and start testing…one headline against the other, one video again the other etc  and you will start to see patterns in the numbers…and that is where it gets exciting because you start to see what will work and success becomes guaranteed!

OK back to the picture…it is about a joke I heard that I made me laugh so..

The wife and I were sitting around the breakfast table one lazy Sunday morning.

I said to her, “If I were to die suddenly, I want you to immediately sell all my stuff.”

“Now why would you want me to do something like that?” she asked.

before I give you the list of reasons (today we will get through some but not all) reasons that you should be creating content for your business I want to set the scene fore this list.

Firstly, my 14 years online and 25 years in business has shown me how hard making money will be and how much time will be wasted without a ‘strategic’ approach to creating content because creating content is an ‘art’, it is marketing and business skill that few bother or take the time to master.

I say this because everything you do within your business, every action and applied idea should be well thought out and in line with every other part of your business mission…so what do i mean by that?

Ok, what I mean is this: a successful business creates its success through a consistent and powerful marketing theme or message that designed to perform specific tasks in their market.  These messages delivered into the marketplace are based in the core of its business and expressed through EVERY piece of content the company produces…

For example, Apple deliver the same style, theme and type of message in every piece of marketing material be it online, TV, paper ads, it does not matter..Apple creates content with great thought.

Coke also do the same, I can spot an advert for Coke a mile off..

So success comes with being strategic about the content your produce that will promote your product and in the online business world there are at least 24 reasons to produce content and we are going to discuss 9 off them that you can use to express your own business ideas and themes into the market. Remember, if you do anything in your business you should have a VERY good reason for taking that action..and too many marketers produce content without the strategic thinking needed..here is the shortened list for you today…

The 9 Reasons To Create Content: (there are more)

1. To show yourself as the expert – we buy from experts

2. To raise issues in the market and agree or disagree with them – to create controversy.

3. To separate yourself from the competition – show your different and better

4. To throw ‘rocks’ at the competition – provides a common enemy.

5. To gain feedback from your clients – build trust and gets information.

6. To build longer and deeper relationships – increase your lifetime customer value.

7. To ‘relate’ to your prospects/clients – to bond and keep connected.

8. To gain trust – we buy from and recommend those we trust.

9. To cause prospects to buy – ultimate reason.

10. (Extra one)  To turn prospects into paying clients – conversion

So the next time that you decide to produce a video, a blog post, to post on Facebook or Twitter as yourself WHY?

Then ask yourself this:  how is my business going benefit from this action?
